We at the Women’s Shelter of South Texas would find it extremely difficult to end family violence and sexual assault in South Texas without the help of our community advocates, agency partners, and generous donors.
Our supporters understand that family and sexual violence affect more than the individuals being abused. The violence affects children, family members, and friends of the abuser and the victim. It affects law enforcement officers who respond to crisis calls. It affects medical professionals who provide emergency care after a crisis. Employers also are affected by the violence when victims are unable to work due to the abuse or when abusers are jailed for their actions. The effect of violence on a community is devastating.
If you would like to see a healthier community, help others prosper and stop the violence, please contact us. We have plenty of ways you can join our cause, either through volunteering, fundraising, or donating.
The Coastal Bend Coordinated Community Response Coalition meets at 12:00pm on the first Thursday of each month at First Baptist Church on Shoreline Drive in the recreation center. We would love to see you there!
